About your PGx Test

Your PGx test analyses 11 important genes that can affect the way your body processes medicines.

Drug Metabolism (CYP Enzymes)

Genes tested: CYP1A2, CYP2B6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP3A4 and CYP3A5

These genes produce enzymes responsible for breaking down around 90% of commonly prescribed medications. Differences in these genes can influence how quickly or slowly your body processes medicines, affecting both their effectiveness and the likelihood of side effects.

‍ ‍

Drug Transport (ABCG2 & SLCO1B1)

These genes influence proteins that transport medicines around the body and help remove them after they have been used. Genetic differences can affect medication levels and, for some medicines, the risk of side effects.

Opioid Response (OPRM1)

This gene affects opioid receptors and can influence how some people respond to opioid pain medicines.

Warfarin Response (VKORC1)

This gene plays an important role in blood clotting and helps determine how individuals respond to the blood thinner warfarin.
